Becoming the Best SEO of the World

So you and me are two of the tens of the millions of people that are eager to attract visitors to our sites. Our struggle is a difficult one, because sometimes it seems SEO exists of a never ending line of bobs and pieces to think out.

We all get lost in that web, because: what to prioritize? If anything, then what is it?.

I am not the best SEO in the world, hell, perhaps not even of my street, and that is a tiny one, but what I do know is that me myself I only stay longer than one second on those websites that just have that one little thing extra.

So do you.

It can be anything, but in general such a site is void of marketing babble, provides very useful information, has original touches, and always: is a unity. A whole. So there we are, forever tweaking and linking and blogging and researching key words and jumping from the one newest trend in SEO to the next one... while we always forget to ask ourselves: Would I myself be thrilled if I happened to stumble over my own website?.

Would you yourself just love it and wish to read everything and find out everything about it and be in delight to go from one page to the other?

If you yourself were the visitor or client, would you find this that one right place that is reliable, provides you with what you were looking for, and makes you forget all other web sites you saw before that moment?

If the answer is no, then you have work to do.

I know, easier said than done. I know what you're going through, because me and my colleagues never stop going through the same.

But we have to.

Because empires come and go, and "SEO techniques" do that by the split second, but if there is one thing that will never go, and that will make your SEO strategy stand as a rock, then it is just all about that one thing that Google never stops mentioning and of which an overwhelming part of the world just makes a vague mental note, but what is really that one single foundation that keeps all the tits and tats in the air...

Quality.

That what make you choose one thing over the other.

It is that what will drive traffic to your website, and with that traffic more traffic, and with that word of mouth, and with that higher rankings.

Baby step by baby step, but what will make you different from all other competitors in the area is that your house will stand as a rock.

First your website, then think about "off-site SEO".

So now I go and try to do that myself.

Adjusting Permalinks For Best SEO in WordPress

By Andrew J Hansen Platinum Quality Author

One of the best things using WordPress blogs (or any blogs) as your content management system is that they come with certain features that give them an advantage in the quest for high rankings and big traffic from the search engines.

Unfortunately however, they still aren't perfect, and there are many steps you need to take in order to ensure that your blog and it's content are ranking as highly as you desire in the major search engines.

Of course, high search engine rankings are a combination of both on page and off page factors. While many people work hard on getting links and building exposure through off page factors, they often overlook the most basic elements of search engine success, the on page factors.

This article is going to look at two tips for doing everything you can to ensure high rankings for your WordPress blog and all it's content.

Part 1: Permalinks

The first thing you need to do if you want the most traffic possible for your WordPress blog is to adjust your permalink structure.

The way you do this is by clicking on, in your WordPress Admin area, Settings on the left vertical menu, and then selecting Permalinks.

You'll see a number of options:

Default http://yourdomain.com/?p=123
Day and name http://yourdomain.com/2009/02/15/sample-post/
Month and name http://yourdomain.com/2009/02/sample-post/
Numeric http://yourdomain.com/archives/123

Options 1 and 4 have to be avoided like the plague. You MUST have your permalinks set so that the name of your post (and hopefully the keywords you're trying to target) appear inside your URL.

Another good permalink structure to use is select CUSTOM and enter:

/%category%/%postname%

Again it ensures that your keywords are going to appear in the URL rather than an arbitrary, NUMBER for the name of your post.

Part 2: Blog Post Titles

Once that's done you're ready to move on and start creating your post. This next tip relates to when you're actually on the write post page and making your content.

The first thing you need to do is create a quality post title. A quality blog post title is one that both appeals to your readers and satisfies the search engines such that they will rank your post for the keywords you want to rank for.

So say you're writing a post that you want to target the keyword "WordPress SEO" - an appropriate title might be:

"WordPress SEO: How To Perfectly Optimize Your Blog For Search Traffic"

This has the keyword in the title FIRST and also has an appealing "how to" headline type statement that is exciting and appealing to a potential reader. This ensures not only that your post will rank well, but when it DOES get the rankings, it will get clicked and your site will get viewed.

These are the first two steps to successful on page optimization of your WordPress blog content.
